Gene Therapy As Preventive Care: Rethinking Payment for One-Shot Cures

Gene therapy has revolutionized modern medicine, enabling transformative treatments for previously incurable diseases. However, current payment models create high cost barriers that prevent patients from accessing these potentially curative therapies. This article argues for incorporating gene therapies into preventive care reimbursement frameworks, proposing that these one-shot cures should be viewed and priced as preventive interventions rather than expensive treatments.
